A big week, literally

Well this past week I had quite a few 1st's.
1. I turned 32 years old!  I didn't do anything too exciting.  Ryan took me out for lunch, I used some of my birthday money and got a facial (ahh).  Ryan also made me a funfetti cake and added all 32 candles, but no singing thankfully.

2. I broke a new weight record for myself and my waistline is now over 40 in

3. My Saturn rolled over to 150k miles. Knock on wood that I have not had any significant expenses thus far.  I just hope it lasts me another few years.  Especially since Ryans car has over 200k and will likely need a new car before me.

4. Got my 1st pair of cowboy boots as a birthday gift from Ryan and his parents. Love them, now I need Ryan to take me out two-steppin.

5. Started getting heartburn but a little swig of Maalox seems to help a lot
6. Shopped at Burlington Coat Factory for the 1st time.  So I normally think of myself as a bargin shopper and rarely ever pay retail.  But somehow have never stepped into this store.  I thought I'd try it after a girlfried said she got her baby's room decor there.  Wow, its as big as Costco!  I was also delighted to find out that they sell maternity clothes too.  I think that some of the items are at a significant discount, but not all.

And a few more photos...

Its Official- I've got an outie!

I started with a complete innie navel.  For the past few weeks my belly button has been poking in and out, but this week I'm calling it-  it is out and staying out for the next few months.  I tried to push it back in, but it just won't stay.  Sorry the photos are a bit discolored, but you get the idea.

This past week we also got registered at Babies R Us and Target.  Man its a lot!  It was much more difficult to decide on bedding etc without knowing the sex of the baby, but there are a lot of cute things that are unisex too.  We also bought our baby's homecoming outfits.  One boy, one girl. Ryan picked out the boys and I the girls.  I mentioned that I would have to wash them so we wouldn't be able to return one. Ryan comment was that if we had a girl that I could still use the boys shorts outfit, but that he wouldn't allow his son to be put into a dress.

I took one of those silly online quizes to find out if I'm having a boy or girl. They asked me whether I had morning sickness, was I carrying high or low, have I gotten hairy, whether I was craving sweet or salty.  Anyways....It said that I was 60% likely to have a GIRL!  But isn't that only slightly higher than the 50% chance had I just flipped a coin?  I don't think I'm buying all those old wives tales.  I do have to note that I think its a girl based on the timing of conception (science playing a role of course), but almost everyone else is guessing its a boy, including Ryan.  Make your guess.  I added a poll to the top of the blog.

Relief

We had another ultrasound this week to check a few minor things, placenta previa and the size of the kidneys.  The previa has resolved itself!  The kidney size is still borderline, but have not gotten any larger so the doctor feels that with no other problematic indicators, the baby looks like it should be fine and told us not to worry.  It's now 1 pound 7 oz, so a little ahead of schedule.  I've been feeling great except for my tailbone and hips aching.  I've gone to the chiropractor and plan to go again a few times more.  After walking all over yesterday at the Rodeo (saw Jason Aldean in concert) my tailbone, which radiates into my lowerback and buttocks, was really sore.  Then today I cleaned/organized the house and again feel quite bad this evening.  Thankfully I see the chiropractor again tomorrow! The place I'm going it great.  Most of their patients are pregnant so I feel really comfortable going there.  They have a great table with a large hole in it so my belly hangs down.  Man is it great to lay facedown for a bit!

Another profile shot....

The photo on the right shows the baby sucking its thumb.  Going to take after its Mama!
