34 Weeks

Last weekend Ryan and I headed down to the island for a nice day at the beach. Thankfully it wasn't too hot, there was a nice breeze and the water was still refreshing.  Bit too much seaweed for my liking but it was bearable.  We also took a new photo of the belly.  Feels like I can't get any bigger.  Some of the maternity tops are getting quite tight &/or too short to cover me.  Still feeling good though.  Bit more tired, swollen and dealing with more heartburn- but wont complain as things seem to be progressing normally.  June 7th we go in for our 36 week ultrasound.  I'll post the last in utero photos of baby Nelson.  Ryan will be leaving after that for 3 weeks of golf tournaments that take him to Louisiana, so my Dad is coming to stay with me until the baby arrives for that 'just in case' moment.  Makes me feel a bit more at ease to have family around . 
I also realized that next weekend will likely be Ryan and I's last weekend together, without family and without baby!  Feels a bit surreal.  I need to come up with something fun/romantic/memorable for us to do, of course on a little budget and with little planning.  Any suggestions?

Baby Shower

Sara, Jeeba and Julie, my classmates at UTMB, threw me a baby shower 2 weeks ago!  It was splendid and they went out of their way to make it perfect. Julie opened up her home for the event, which was great for me as its just down the road from my place.  Sara made a really cute baby bear cake (yum confetti cake inside) and put together the baby photo guessing game- which I was horrible at. Jeeba constructed a huge, very cute baby diaper cake decoration that took me forever to deconstruct.  We also played the baby bottle drinking game, which was hilarious, and timed ourselves folding baby socks (have to brag that I won).  Of course there were also adorable decorations too.  I was told that all of the pink balloons that were used all popped before the event leaving only neutral and blue ones....is it a sign?!   

Thank you ladies that organized and attended (and those that couldn't) for such a memorable event.  Love you!

32 Weeks

So I realized that I never really put a belly photo up since my 25th week.  Below are Angela and I at my shower.  I'm at about 28 weeks and Ang is about 6 weeks behind me.

Now here I am at 32 weeks.  Just had another checkup this week and everything looks good.  Gained 20 pounds now and beginning to grow out of some of my maternity shirts.  I'm feeling good overall, but being that I am sitting at my desk writing so much I have been getting uncomfortable pains up in my ribs.  I really need to quit slouching! 

This past weekend we went and bought a glider/rocking chair.  Its very comfortable and I cant wait to put it to good use.
